My mobile does not work properly, what can I do?
If you experience difficulties when connecting your mobile to your Ford Bluetooth system, please proceed as follows:
- Check whether Bluetooth is activated in your vehicle. (Operating Manual)
- Check whether your mobile is listed on the Ford compatibility list.
- Check the firmware version of your mobile and update this if necessary.
- Please restart your mobile and try to connect to your Ford handsfree system again.
- On first connecting some mobiles, '0000' must be entered in the mobile in order to create a PIN. You can then use the PIN displayed by the system in order to successfully complete the connection process. Please also refer to the mobile phone instructions on the compatibility list.
- Delete the list of connected devices in your vehicle and mobile and again try to connect to your Ford Bluetooth handsfree system.
If you experience difficulties on automatically reconnecting your mobile to your Ford Bluetooth handsfree system, please refer to the following instructions:
- If your phone requests you to authorise the Bluetooth connection, confirm this with YES. Please also refer to your mobile operating manual.
Ex.: Authorisation of some Samsung phones: Menu>Settings>Bluetooth>My Devices>Ford Audio>Options>Authorize Device
- If your mobile was not the last device to be connected, it can sometimes take several minutes for your mobile to reconnect.
If you notice sporadic connection breakdowns or errors on reconnecting, please refer to the following instructions:
- Please restart your mobile and try to connect to your Ford handsfree system again.
- Check whether a newer software version is available for your mobile. Please also refer to the instructions in the FAQ category:

If you notice errors on accessing your phone book or call lists, please refer to the following instructions:
- Check whether your mobile is shown on the Ford compatibility list and apply the instructions specific to your phone.
- Only contacts saved in the phone memory are shown and transferred to the vehicle. Contacts saved on the SIM card are not displayed. Please import these to your phone memory manually. How to do this is set out in your mobile phone manual.
- With some mobiles, you must approve access to your mobile phone book. Please refer to the instructions displayed on your mobile and confirm these.

How can I update my Ford Bluetooth®- and Multimedia System in my car?
In order to use the latest mobile phones and media players in your vehicle, we are constantly testing those devices compatibility to your Ford multimedia system. An enhanced version of the corresponding functionalities will be provided after updating your Ford multimedia system.

How many mobile phones can I bond with the Ford Bluetooth system?
You may bond up to six mobile phones with the Ford Bluetooth system. However, only one can be the active device for handsfree calls. When switching on ignition, this device will automatically be connected again. If you want to choose a different device, please select it from the radio/navigation system menu of your Ford vehicle.

How to enter the Bluetooth PIN?
The Ford Bluetooth system supports the secure PIN bonding. For bonding a new mobile phone you have to start the Bluetooth search at your mobile phone. As soon as you have found the Ford Audio, please select it and enter the randomly generated PIN shown on your radio/navigation system. On first connecting some mobiles, '0000' must be entered in the mobile in order to create a PIN. You can then use the PIN displayed by the system in order to successfully complete the connection process. Please confirm any messages for automatic connections on your mobile phone and set the connection to authorized.

How do I find out my mobile's firmware version?
If your mobile does not work properly with your Ford Bluetooth handsfree system, please check the software version of your mobile. For details on how to do this, please refer to the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your mobile phone. Then please check the website by the manufacturer of your mobile phone in order to find out whether a newer software version is available to update your mobile phone. Please also refer to the manufacturer's instructions in terms of updating your firmware and save your data if necessary.
Refer to following section to read out currently installed Firmware version:
- Apple iOS (iPhone): Settings/General/Info/Version
- Google Android: Settings/ Phone Info/Firmware
- Microsoft Windows Phone 7: Press Windows 7 arrow in idle screen/Settings/Info/Phone information

I cannot start the Ford Audio Update process, what can I do?
In some cases it could be necessary to separate the downloaded "Ford Audio Update" files. Please proceed as follows:
- Download the "Ford Audio Update" files and save the Zip-File at any location of your Personal Computer.
- Open the "Ford Audio Update"Zip-File.
- Extract only the ".bvc" and ".vbf" files corresponding to your current Voice Control language to the highest-level directory of your USB flash drive:

Example for English language: Choose files "8M5T-14D511-AT.bvc" and "8M5T-14D511-AT.vbf". Extract both from the Zip-File and save them in the top-level folder of your USB flash drive. Please make sure that no other files than ".bvc" and ".vbf" are available on the USB flash drive.
- Proceed with step 2 of the Ford Audio Update Instructions.
Note:
- Changing the Voice Control language of this system is not possible.
- On vehicles equipped with Travelpilot NX radios the Voice Control language might be different to the required language files mentioned above. Please choose the appropriate language files.
